Sometimes the hardest part of writing is getting started, but when we are teaching children to write we can remove this initial obstacle by letting them take inspiration from existing books. By forging forward with a character that the child already feels connected to, we heighten interest and remove writer’s block, making the sequel an ideal tool for teaching narrative writing.
