SESSION DESCRIPTION
An author visit at school can be fun and educational, but can also be so much more. Creating partnerships between authors and schools can reinforce literacy lessons in ways that make a lasting impression on students. This workshop will discuss tips and suggestions from both sides of the desk (from a school librarian and an author) to make an author visit something librarians can do to demonstrate how vital the library is in supporting the community of the school, and to enrich the students, parents, and staff in a way that is different from the regular instructional time.
