SESSION DESCRIPTION
Focus on collaboration with High School Professional Learning Communities led two Teacher Librarians to the Library of Congress Summer Institute on World Cultures to promote linked learning within their schools' smaller learning communities. The emphasis that learning towards higher, vocational and certificated pathways and careers begin with relevance and rigor develops a project-based event at their schools. The district has placed certification of Small Learning Communities within the WASC review. The project embeds the Model School Library Standards into the WASC-reviewed Linked Learning process. Share our groundwork, and then share the process. This is advocacy from the ground-up.
